No Sew Roman Shades Update, Tips, Suggestions, Etc.

Thank ya'll again for the comments and emails on the DIY shades! I love opening my inbox and seeing the emails with questions, suggestions, and such. With that said, I wanted to do a quick little update with some additional info.

First up, here is a picture from the outside with them up...

Next, the fabric name...

I also had a suggestion to use faux wood blinds instead of the plastic ones. I think that is a great idea to keep them a little more sturdy!

And be sure to check out Anna over at In The Next 30 Days. She has a great suggestion on using all of those leftover slats. She made plant markers! Genius and super adorable.

And I can't wait to show you our living room windows now that they are finished with new curtains! We've lived here a little over a year now and I finally have them done! It has really made our living room more cozy. My grandmother helped me make them and although I didn't have time to take step by step pictures, I will be posting the final result this week.

  1. Thanks for sharing my DIY Amy. You can't beat two projects from 1 set of blinds! Especially when they both have such great result. Yay.

  2. Amazing! I was browsing fabric.com on one window, while checking out your tutorial on another window, and this fabric came up (I was searching for blue nautical).....I believe it's the exact same design, but in light blue!
